Purple or Pink?

Why make a choice when you can have it all? :)

Jossy loves getting her nails painted and picking out colors, and I love having a few moments of mommy/daughter time where she's actually holding still!

HUH?!

Dan and I were sitting at the computer tonight working on the budget when we heard some loud sounds of things dropping and banging from Matty's room right next to us. I rushed in there thinking maybe he had fallen out of bed. I was half right.

I can't believe he kept on sleeping! He's had his bed railing off for a couple months now, but he wants it back on and I'm thinking with the mover that this kid is I should probably listen to him. He's knocked things off that nightstand a million times and we've even found him laying his head on it while sleeping. Yep, time for the railing to come back.

I pity his future wife.

The Definition of Physics

phys·ics (fiz'iks) n. 1. (used with a sing. verb) The science of matter and energy and of interactions between the two

For example, if you throw a rock into a giant mud puddle, the energy from the rock is going to transfer to the mud and possible create an image like this.

This was a couple weeks ago at a nearby park. Good thing another mom had brought a huge container of baby wipes! Another had brought her camera which was also lucky because I wouldn't want the proof of such science lost. ;)

Time at the Farm

Thanksgiving Point has their $2 Tuesday special going on for the month of August. Only crazy people deal with those kind of insane crowds just for a good deal. Well, we've already established I'm one of those crazy people so of course I was out there last week and this week.

Today we went to Farm Country with Laurie, a college roommate and her little boy. Despite the crowds the kids had a great time, and I always enjoy the opportunity to chat with a good friend. :)

This picture of Laurie and the alpaca cracks me up. They look so in love here . . . that is until the alpaca sneezed right in her face immediately after I shot this. LOL

I told Jossy to smile and this is what she gave me.

Jossy has always wanted to ride the ponies but every time we've tried she won't even sit there a full 2 seconds. This time I showed her how other mommies walked around with their kids and I could help her. She was actually willing to stay on this time!! But I had to keep my arm completely around her the whole time with her arm around mine just like in this picture. It was so awkward to walk like that and my arm was asleep by the time the ride was over, but I was so proud of her for staying on the whole ride!!

My kids right where they belong. ;)

One of Jossy's two most favorite animals in the world.
I don't get it.

The Real Purpose of Knitting Looms

Lightening Storms

Since we live on a mountain bench, we had a great view from our porch last week for all the storms that occurred. Matty was woken up by the ridiculously loud thunder two nights in a row, so we let him come out and watch with us. He's always been afraid of storms so we were hoping some late night time with Mom and Dad would help him see how fun they can be.

It wasn't so easy to get these pictures with the camera hand-held but I'm glad I was able to get a few!

And I've saved the best for last! I love this one!!!

These obviously don't really do justice to the amount of lightening, but my trigger finger just wasn't fast enough! (I know, I could've used a tripod and left the shutter open longer, but I wanted to try this way.)

I LOVE A GOOD STORM!!

Matty however. . . well, let's just say he's a lot better than he was. At least he was willing to sit out there with us.

You know it's time to mow the lawn when. . .

. . . doing so makes the grass look like it has a mullet.

Wish all of our grass grew this well. This is a small patch of sod we planted last year. It's one of the few parts that actually grows like a lawn should. The rest was still relatively short even after a month of not mowing. (Yep, we're sinners who went a whole month!)
