Family Pics 2014

We took these ourselves in early October.  I wanted to get them done before the weather changed and everything looked dead.  Jossy's the one who has been BEGGING to have them done.  She cannot stand the fact that Alice is not in any of our family pictures hanging in our living room.  What's sad is they still aren't hanging up.  I just haven't had time to edit and print them.  I seriously need to get it done though before everyone grows up too much and it's time for new ones again.

These edits aren't perfect, but like I've said, things just need to get done and off my back right now.  Sometimes good enough is good enough.

Matty took these ones of Dan and I.
They turned out great!

Adorable

I don't know which I like more:
her in these frames or the 1.5 top teeth showing.

Halloween

The school costume parade!

The main event!
Thank you nice weather for sticking around!

(A mermaid, chicken, skunk, and minion)

The monster from our minivan was reincarnated to our door.

If only he got ready for bed with such speed!

The most beautiful Halloween sunset ever!!!

Children and Knives: A Winning Combination

Can I just start by pointing out this weirdness right here???
I have NEVER seen a pumpkin seed that's sprouted inside a pumpkin!
WEIRD!!

Leaf Time!

I love taking pictures of my kids every year playing in the ginormous amount of Fall leaves at the local park.  What I DON'T love is going through hundreds of photos trying to decide what to share on the blog and then editing them all.  These are quick, quick choices, edits, and collages!  Gotta move past Fall!

Trunk-or-Treat

Our van was fierce this year.
(And designed, colored, and cut in the 3 minutes before we walked out the door. Yet somehow we still won an award!)

It took a while to go near any stranger for candy (not a bad thing when you think about it!)
But once she figured it out there was no stopping her.  She'd return to the same bowl over and over.

Jaker's Pumpkin Patch

We may have found a new Halloween activity.  You can't beat FREE fun!

Look-a-likes

We don't often dress up for Halloween, but this year we went to a party that required it.  So we went as Sheldon and Amy from Big Bang Theory.  It was fun when people got it . . . though I did get called Blossom a lot.

Oreo Face

A messy girl is a happy girl . . .
at least when chocolate is involved.

Master Bedroom Redo: Walls and Bookshef

I'm super far behind again.  Story of my life.

Less words on this one, more pics.  Just to try and get through more quickly.

Choices

(I went with the top one on the right, the far left one above the bed.)
Making a huge mess painting quickly to get the room usable again.
Getting over the heart attack of the darker color. I love it now.

Painting and adding crown molding to an old ugly bookcase.
Learning to use a miter saw via Google was involved.
 Fabric backing.  Ignored children.
 Before and after
We have brand new silky white curtains and bronze curtain rods in there as well, just no pictures of them right now.  I still have painting all the rest of the furniture white, changing out the hardware, and putting decor back on the walls left to do.  Then the master bathroom with get redone.  Our trip to Hawaii in November got in the way of everything.  (More on that later.)  And now with Christmas season upon us, it looks like it all will have to wait til January.  To be continued...
